Colour Responsible Policy

Colour Responsible Policy At Perfectly Posh Aveda Hair Salon, Hungerford

While we appreciate this may be an inconvenience, it is important we follow the correct safety procedures for your safety and peace of mind of both clients & stylists. Reactions to hair colour can be serious and even life-threatening. There are strict guidelines from manufacturers, insurers, industry bodies around using hair colour.

In the aftermath of the Covid pandemic, there are even more reasons why you will need a skin test. Everyone MUST have a skin test – there are NO EXCEPTIONS.

Allergy Alert Tests (AAT ) is also known as skin tests or patch tests. They are super simple and quick to carry out. ALL clients must visit the salon for a FREE – in house Allergy Alert test (ATT skin tests). Skin tests are needed for individuals who have had Coronavirus as there has been an increase in people becoming sensitive to hair colour. People who have coloured their hair at home. Those who have not visited the salon for 6 months or longer. Clients who are new to Perfectly Posh and would like their hair coloured.

We will apply a small amount of colour formula behind your ear, this should be left untouched for at least 48 hours. We will give you instructions on what to look out for in case of an allergic reaction.

Should you experience any signs of irritation, reddening, swelling, inflammation or itching, please contact us straight away. If you develop symptoms that make you unwell, please contact a medical professional.

Should you have any queries or questions regarding skin testing our stylists are happy to explain fully why we believe this is the responsible way to use hair colour.  You can book your skin test & consultation by calling our Hungerford hair salon on 01488 686465.
